"SYNTHESIS AND RESEARCH Ltd" was established in 1983 by the architects G. Albanis and N. Fintikakis. The company has dynamically expanded and strengthened with the inclusion of highly qualified partners, academic consultants and an experienced, specialised professional staff.
The firm draws on the services of collaborating consulting firms in Europe and the USA and it is registered at the following lists: "List of Consulting Firms" of the European Union, (European Commission, D.G. VIII), List of Consulting Firms of the WORLDBANK, "List of Greek Consulting Firms" of the General Secretariat of Public Works" (Greece).
The academic qualifications of the firm’s personnel include study, design research, lectures, participation in congresses and publications. The firm has been awarded a great number of prizes and honourable mentions at Hellenic and International Architectural Competitions (Europe-Japan-USA).

Graduated Lycee Leonin in 1961 and studied Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens. He is senior partner of "SYNTHESIS AND RESEARCH Ltd" G. Albanis - N. Fintikakis and partners, Architects - consulting engineers. He speaks English and French fluently.
He is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, of the Association of Greek Architects and of the Greek consulting association (HELLASCO).
He has been awarded several prizes in Greek and International Architectural Competitions as well as research projects of the EU. He has participated in many Architectural Exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He has been responsible of many architectural studies invested by the public sector as well as in studies concerning specialized fields.
He is the co-coordinator of many major works in the sectors of development of the construction industry, education, environment, health, tourism, transport, urban development, restorations etc. His work in the field of research is related to bioclimatic architecture, archaeology, town planning, renewable energy sources etc. He has numerous publications in Greek and international architectural magazines and press. He is coordinating many Greek and European projects.
Nikos Fintikakis, architect, studied at the National Technical University of Athens and post–graduated at the Heriot-Watt University of Edinburgh. He is senior partner and managing Director of «SYNTHESIS AND RESEARCH Ltd» G. Albanis-N. Fintikakis and partners Architects-consulting engineers. He is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, of the Association of Greek Architects and of the Greek consulting association (HELLASCO).
He is Director of the U.I.A. work programme “ARES” on Architecture and Renewable Energy Sources. He has been awarded several prizes in Greek and International Architectural Competitions as well as research projects of the EU. He has participated in many Architectural Exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He has also given lectures to research centres, universities and international scientific fora. His work in the field of research is related to bioclimatic architecture, archaeology, town planning, renewable energy sources etc.
He has numerous publications in Greek and international architectural magazines and press. He is coordinating many Greek and European projects.
He has participated, as member of the jury, in many National and International Architectural Competitions.
Markella Fintikaki, architect, studied at the National Technical University of Athens and post–graduated from the department of Urban Design of the Architectural School of NTUA. Since her graduation (1998), she is permanent employee of the architectural firm “SYNTHESIS & RESEARCH Ltd- G. Albanis – N. Fintikakis and partners, Architects – consulting engineers in the sector of planning, building design, urban design and research projects financed by the European Union.
She has participated in all the major architectural projects of the public and private sector as well as to all national and International Architectural Competitions.
She has contributed actively in the awarded prizes and distinctions of the Architectural-consulting firm “SYNTHESIS & RESEARCH Ltd”.
She is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Association of Greek Architects and she speaks English and French fluently.
Her work has been published in Greek architectural magazines.
